Each year the Pitt County Educational Foundation awards grant funding to Pitt County Schools educators on a competitive basis. IMPACT Grants are monetary awards for innovative and creative classroom projects. Each attendance area has a committee that reviews applications, selects recipients, and evaluates the implementation of each project. In 2023, we awarded $50,000 in funding to teachers across the district for 109 projects. We even awarded funding to a high school senior to create take-home STEM kits for PTA events throughout the county.
This year, in addition to the IMPACT Grants for educators, we are offering funding for high school students to implement INNOVATION grants for projects in their school or to support another Pitt County School. INNOVATION GRANTS are funding opportunities for Pitt County Schools High School Students for projects awarded competitively. Projects should benefit students and/or educators in a Pitt County Schools setting. Grant requests should not exceed $1,000.00. Our goal is to raise $65,000 to fund creative projects and programs that will enhance the educational experiences of our students and teachers. With your help, we can provide the resources and support needed to inspire and empower our outstanding PCS educators and students. |

“As a non-profit foundation that supports excellence in Pitt County public education, The Pitt County Educational Foundation fully supports and ascribes to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion statement of Pitt County Schools, as stated below.”
Diversity, equity, and inclusion statement - PCS School Board Statement, 2015
The Pitt County Board of Education is committed to developing and maintaining a world-class school system that supports educational excellence regardless of race, gender, national origin, differing abilities, or religion. Academic programs and services, which respond to the needs of a diverse student population and which prepare all students for a changing workplace and pluralistic society, are essential. Education that is multicultural fosters: acceptance and appreciation of diversity; the development of a greater understanding of cultural patterns; respect for people of all cultures; the development of positive and productive interactions among people of diverse cultural groups; an understanding of historical, political, and economic bases of current inequities; and the use of culturally responsive strategies to inspire student learning.
The Pitt County Schools Strategic Plan (2021-2026) addresses diversity, equity, and inclusion.
