Amy Carroll – Sherry Little Award
The Amy Carroll – Sherry Little Award is presented annually in recognition of an individual who has gone the extra mile in supporting physical education in Pitt County. The award is dedicated to the memory of Amy Carroll and Sherry Little, outstanding physical education
teachers for Pitt County Schools.
Kathryn Paine McConnell Teaching Award
Dr. William McConnell established the Katherine P. McConnell Teaching Award in 2002 to honor his first wife’s profession and to recognize outstanding teachers at J. H. Rose High School, the alma mater of their children. This award recognizes the commitment made by individuals to the teaching profession at the high school level, both in the classroom and in the larger school
community.
The Frances Young Award,
Community-Engagement and Excellence in Education
The Pitt County Educational Foundation Board of Directors has established a new award in honor of Frances Young, our recently retired director of 29 years. During Frances' time as director of the Educational Foundation, the foundation implemented programs bridging relationships between Pitt County Schools and our community. Frances helped established numerous scholarships for graduating seniors and developed an annual mini-grant program to establish innovative and creative projects throughout Pitt County Schools. Everyone that knows Frances, loves Frances! Her dedication and vision will continue to impact teachers and students for years to come.
