The Dennis T. and Madge McLawhorn Endowment
The Dennis T. and Madge MaLawhorn Endowment was established by Gay McLawhorn Love of Atlanta, Georgia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McLawhorn, native of Winterville and graduate of Winterville High School. The Board of Directors of the Pitt County Educational Foundation administers the interest income from this endowment for various projects and programs.
Belk Endowed Arts and Humanities Event
In 1988, the Belk Company provided the Pitt County Educational Foundation with a gift to fund an annual art or humanities event for the students of Pitt County Schools. There have been annual performances and events since 1988. The latest event was a performance by the ECU Wind Trio at Grifton School, Ayden Middle, A.G. Cox, C.M. Eppes, E.B. Aycock, and Ayden-Grifton High School.
Margaret L. Blount Endowed Art Competition
This art competition is made possible by a gift from Margaret Little Blount Harvey in honor of her mother, the late Margaret L. Blount. The annual event recognizes high school artists and their teachers. In addition, The Greenville Museum of Art sponsors a reception to honor these artists.
Judith H. Budacz Scholarship
Glaxo-Wellcome honored Judith H. Budacz, the 1997 North Carolina Principal of the Year, by establishing this scholarship in her honor. This scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior who plans to major in education.
